Chocolate Moose

Today's post is to remember and honor my first horse...Moose. I'll link you back to another post that tells her story in the end. She would have been 31 today...not a day goes by that I don't think of her. She was my everything- from babysitter to best friend.

Moose sounds like she was a wonderful horse. It's so sad that you and she were apart for so long and then the day she had to be put down was heartbreaking. I'm sure even when she wasn't with you she knew that you cared and the best part is she knew you were with her in the end and that you both loved each other.
I still feel guilty that I wasn't there when Erik coliced and wasn't able to get to him and be with him when he was put down.

She has those wonderful gentle eyes with that long, thoughtful looks. Sounds like she was quite a girl.

Wonderful Moose! I forgot that St. P's Day is her birthday. Kind of funny because she popped into my head today when I was driving home from work.

I'm sorry too...

Such a sweet beautiful girl...friends like those are never really truly die you know - they live on in our hearts and I really believe with all my heart we will see them again someday on the other side of the bridge.

That is a great picture of her and it's good to remember her every so often.

It sounds like Moose was the best, and I am sorry that you had to loose her the way you did. :(

I reread your March 2008 tribute to your lovely Chocolate beauty...and I cried....again.

She was one of those once in a lifetime horses, wasn't she? I'm so sad for you that you had to experience such a tragic and terrible experience...very tough for someone so young at the time, too.
But her life was also very important in that she taught you important life lessons even through her suffering and death.

I'm glad you were there for her on her last day. I'm sure that meant so much to her.
