My head has always stuck out like a turtle's. And I have Barbie arms, they don't bend. But check out my posture, it has improved:-) I have many faults, I know. I haven't had a dressage lesson in years:-( We don't show anymore so being "correct" isn't a real goal . He's been so light and soft in my hands that I have really welcomed it. I see now that he's extremely hollow through the back and not using much of himself. But that's OK by me. As long as he seems happy and doesn't wreck my back with his spooks or hanging on me then I'm happy:-)
So here we have piaffe, trotting in place:-) LOL, totally kidding, piaffe we wish, he's just stepping sideways at a walk.

See I do ride! :-) Matt graciously took those photos a couple of Saturday's ago...I might not be(come) a Bridezilla, but I am a Photozilla for sure. Pics have to be perfect :-) The background, the timing - I become a director of my own little photo shoot and get Matt mad enough to almost quit. So then I have to beg him for just 100 more:-) Gotta love digital these days. So out of 170 photos taken that day those are the ones I liked for one reason or another.

I don't see turtle - I outa post some pictures of me riding - my conformation has gotten down right scary. You don't look too bad at all!
But yes bend your arms more.

I think you guys look great! I need to bend my arms more too when I ride - there is always something to work on!

Sometimes if I concentrate on bending my arms (like a new age Barbie can) then everything eles falls apart :-x

Matt does a great job. I would never have known you are a Turtle Barbie if you hadn't shown these out takes :) He does a good job covering it up! That's what a good photographer does.

I have had the same problem with "barbie" arms!! Hehe, interesting relatoin there, I would have never thought to call it that, but it's true!
You and Less do look good riding though, don't be soo hard on yourself, those things are fixable :).
To help myself with barbie arms, I usually take Errika out, ride bareback and walk and trot around just focusing on that. Not to mention a list of other things like sitting tall, shoulders back, eyes up. Try doing that sometime. Less being soft will only help you work on yourself. I've tired it with Ink and he is not soft, a tank and usually lays on my hands these days. So he's not the best thing to practice that on.

I've only met Lester once or twice, but I must say he looks so handsome in these pics.
My husband has almost quit over taking conformation shots before. He can take 200 pictures and I'll find 10 that I am willing to put on my website.
And I have Barbie arms too, I'm really trying to work on them, but not doing too well. I think you guys look great though, despite the Barbie arms!
oh, i can't judge. i run like a granny.
maybe you should raise one arm and see if you're a growing up skipper doll. am i the only one who remembers that doll?
