A Grey in a manger...

Well, in a stall I mean. Both girls took shelter from the wind Sunday morning while we cleaned stalls. It's gotten cold again, the high today is only 36! That is COLD for us. I bought the girls hats for Christmas just haven't put them on and taken pics yet, guess I better do it! The wind kept blowing Lester's off yesterday so I was lucky to get a good shot of him in it.

They stayed warm other ways too... Peanut may be a lab in a greyhound's body, but Limo is a midget mutant of one....

Your title drew me in........I had to come have a look to see what it was about. Very cute!

I have a couple of friends who have rescued greyhounds. It's really fun to watch them "race" each other around the pasture.

Love the title of your post and the following picture! PRICELESS!

Your babies would be incredible unhappy at place and our 3 and half feet going on 4ft of snow.

You have a great Christmas encase I don't get back online till after then!

Thanks all, I plan to do a Xmas card with that title next year- it just came to me yesterday when she curled up in the pile of hay. It's nice to have an artsy plan again, now I just have to design it:-)

"A grey in the manger, no pillow for her head, the little lady Nut lay down her sweet head!
A light on the ceiling shine down where she lay, all snuggled in hay! The horses are blowing, the poor doggie wakes, But the little grey doggie, no whining she makes!
I love thee pretty Peanut, please come in from the barn, and stay by my side so I come to no harm!"

LOL Oregonsunshine, that was great! I actually tried to do more of it, but couldn't remember the real words so much for that!

Great title. Thought it was going to be a grey horse not a greyhound. They are cute, my husband's mom used to have these dogs years ago. Very energetic. They know how to stay warm too.

What great pics (and the title rocked too).
While I'm sure that 36 is cold for you guys I can't have too much sympathy.
Our temp here is -31C right now, with a windchill warning bringing it down to -40something. :(
That is totally crazy! Our normal temps for this time of year are -10C to -20C.

(to put that in perspective -31C = -24ish, -40C. -10C = 14 and -20C = -4. Funny enough -40C IS -40F!)

oops, that -40C. after the -24ish shouldn't be there!
Possible excuse for my screw up... brain freeze (and not the fun margarita kind! lol)

OMG!!! Your post titled "Is There Something On My Leg" totally cracked me up!!!!

Your pups are too cute, and of course there is Lester...words cannot describe him. Or is that Limo??? LOL!!!

Yeah...it's pretty cold around here still too.
:(
It is depressing me!

Thanks! I actually had to go look up the words.

Actually, CP and I are considering adopting a retired greyhound for our next dog. He loves Iggies, we really believe in rescue and a not so "go, go, go" dog might be better for us next time. Right now we're so lucky our Aussie pup is laid back and very mellow for his breed!

your title caught my eye and i had to stop in :-) she is so sweet curled up in her hay bed. my aussie loves to burrow into the horses' hay and get cozy too, though a good amount of it ends up on my carpet later, and i'm not sure how the horses feel about dog-flavored hay... oh well. hope you had a great xmas. keep warm!
