How to exercise a greyhound

Spooky would do the exact same thing...eventually she'd realize we were just going in circles so she wouldn't follow so intently. It's still new to Peanut though.

I cantered on Lester the other day, I LOVE his canter. He felt so good that day and I just asked. He's always had such easy transitions too. I got on him again the next day and he didn't feel nearly as good. He stiffened and seemed anxious. So we just walked for 10 mins and I hopped off. No need to ever push too much, we just have to take it day to day. It's not even just the riding him, I love spending the tacking up time with him. He's so goofy and turns his head in the tackroom and sticks his tongue out constantly at me.

Wow Les is looking good! He looked so relaxed and happy at the canter.
He may just have been a little sore and tight from using muscles he hasn't in a while. (or in a way he hasn't).

Wow! You and Lester looked great together! He looked so collected and calm and your hands were quiet and you looked like you were actually a prt of Lester, not just his rider. Excellent video with Peanut joining in for some exercise, too. It's nice that Lester doesn't seem to mind. :)

Yeah - glad you got not only a chance to ride, but to trot and canter! You guys looked great. Ditto to what Cdn said - maybe he was just a bit sore the next day from not being ridden regularly.

It's so cute the the dog just follows you around!

Also totally jealous of your weather!!!

I'm so happy for you and Lester that you got to enjoy each other with a nice ride. He must be feeling better to do a nice canter. You two look great together.

That is ADORABLE! I'm so proud of Nut that she doesn't nip at Les' heels or chase. She really is a farm dog! Just perfect. I'm happy for you and Les that you are riding again.

I definitely need to exercise Copper that way! Maybe as soon as we're successful at getting is neuter done and he's all healed up.

Just look at you two!!! I think it is great that you are trying out riding Lester again. And I think that Peanut looks pretty happy about it as well. :)

Thanks for all of your sweet comments on my crazy posts! So you are a cautious rider too, eh???

Okay sorry about that - peanut is very cute - Roper does the same thing I think it's hilarious.

Kudos for lopin around on Lester!
