Huevos Rancheros anyone?

Well for my birthday I asked my parents for the GT Express Cooker 101. They laughed and said I would never cook anything, but got it for me anyways. I'd seen 2 infomercials for it and wanted one. After all even if I never used it at least it would give my Crock-Pot I got last Christmas some company:-)

My first attempt I realized I put too much salsa and I added a whole tortilla instead of one. It's probably best to follow the instructions in the little book that comes with it- but it's so hard for me. Not that I don't want to follow them, but I just read them wrong! It was still edible, a little undercooked though. Too my surprise Matt wanted seconds so this time I followed the instructions exactly to get the above creation. It was simple and actually pretty good:-)

Edit to add the ingredients:

1/2 cup of any salsa

2 eggs

2-4 tbl spoons of cheese

1 tortilla cut in half

*Lay each half of the tortilla in the well (that's GT Express Cooker talk) and spoon the salso onto the tortillas in the well, leave the middle empty to crack your eggs in to. I learned the hard way that you need to poke the yolk- it cooks better that way. Then close you GT cooker and go blog for 10-15 mins and volia! Sprinkle some cheese on top the last few mins of cooking.

WOW! I hate to cook, but maybe I can attempt that.

So, is it that you hate to cook or just feel inept?

It looks interesting. What else can be made with that machine of yours?

For the record, husbands are required to say that whatever we cooked is good, even when it's a flop. If your hubs asked for seconds, it had to be good!

I hate and can't cook...:-/ probably stems from my inability to follow instructions...

The little cookbook has 101 recipes! With all kinds of different stuff, I'm looking forward to making veggie wrap sandwiches and hot pockect type things... I'll keep you guys posted with Pics of course:-)

oregonsunshine- I'll have to keep that in mind, if he asks for seconds I know he likes it!:-)

I love the "go blog for 10-15 minutes" part of the instructions!
lol

You've got to learn to use your crockpot. I'm not much of a cook but the crockpot makes things soooo easy and tasty!

The combination sounds yummy. I love recipes, but I almost never manage to follow them exactly - sometimes the results are more than a bit odd.

I second the crockpot use suggestion. One of my favorite walk-away & leave it meals? Pork chops, onion, potato, salt & pepper. Deposit in crock pot on medium. It can cook pretty much all day long. In a big crock, an hour or two before eating, dump in one can of Campbells Cream of Mushroom, 1/2 can of milk, and some mozzarella cheese & stir it just enough to coat. Let it cook. When the pork chops are falling apart it's done.

Incredibly easy. (Hope you're not a vegetarian!)

Looks a little odd, like too perfect.
My omelettes are messy and sloppy.
This one of yours looks like an art object.

A Huevos Rancheros Art Sculpture! :)

So do you love it?

Enjoy!
